We offer a wide selection of rental firearms so you can find the model that best suits your comfort and skill level. Our instructors will help you choose the right fit and ensure you’re confident and safe throughout your training experience. All necessary safety gear and ammunition are also available for purchase or rent at the range.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for your safety. If you already have eye and ear protection, targets, or ammunition, you’re welcome to bring them. If not, all required items are available for purchase right here in our store. Our staff will make sure you’re fully equipped and ready before class begins.

  • Not at all! Our classes are designed for all skill levels—from complete beginners to experienced shooters looking to refine their technique. Our certified instructors will guide you through every step, focusing on firearm safety, proper handling, and building confidence at your own pace. You’ll receive personalized instruction in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

  • Yes. Participants must be 16 years or older to attend a class. Students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the session. Our instructors take extra care to ensure all young participants learn in a safe, supportive, and educational environment.

  • Most classes run approximately 3.5 hours, which includes about 45 minutes of hands-on range time. This schedule allows ample time for classroom instruction, safety demonstrations, and personalized coaching on the range to help you practice what you’ve learned.

  • Class sizes are intentionally kept small—typically between 4 and 6 students—to ensure personalized instruction and plenty of one-on-one guidance from our instructors. This allows each participant to learn at their own pace and receive focused attention in a safe, comfortable setting.

Mr. Daube

Dirk Daube’s lifelong journey with firearms began at age eleven in the Boy Scouts, where he first learned to shoot. While serving in the United States Air Force, he trained regularly with his base’s small arms team, further sharpening his skills.

After leaving the Air Force in 1982, he joined the Boy Scouts of America, where he helped shape the Shooting Sports program nationwide. He co-authored the Shotgun and Shooting merit badge books and served as Co-Director of Shooting Sports for two National Jamborees. During this period, he also earned his full suite of NRA Instructor and Training Counselor certifications, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in firearms education.

In 1988, Mr. Daube became Training Director at 10 Ring Service, a company specializing in accuracy enhancement for competitive shooters worldwide. His work extended to law enforcement, SWAT, and sniper teams, providing advanced training that demanded precision down to the heartbeat. He remained with 10 Ring Service until 2010, while also leading NRA Instructor courses, Training Counselor workshops, and BSA National Camp School programs, as well as training 4H shooting instructors at Rock Eagle.

His expertise also took him to the international stage: Mr. Daube worked at the 1996 World Cup, the 1996 Olympic Games, and the Paralympic Games in shooting sports, representing the world-renowned firearms manufacturer Anschutz.

Over the past 30+ years, Mr. Daube has taught more than 30,000 students and instructors, ranging from youth and first-time shooters to advanced competitors and training counselors. Today, his mission remains the same: to provide safe, effective, and confidence-building firearms instruction to every student who walks through the doors of Mainstreet Guns & Range.
